Harlequin Ladies Football Club held their most successful monthly coaching day for young rugby players on Saturday 5 November 2005 on the playing fields on Craneford Way, behind the Twickenham Stoop Stadium.
Members of Harlequin Ladies were on hand to coach girls of all abilities from ages 7-17 yrs, either as an introduction to the game or to help established players improve on their skills. The event was by far the most well attended coaching day that the Ladies have run to date. The session focused on handling, evasion skills and introduction to contact, with the girls being split into groups according to their ability and age. The coaches present were very impressed by the skill level and development of all participants.

Youth Co-ordinater, Michelle Kendell said "It was amazing to see so many girls present and this was by far the most popular coaching day we have run. The success generated from these days will ensure that not only girls rugby in our catchment area grows, but that our Youth Academy will flourish."

The next coaching day is due to take place on Saturday 14 January 2006.

On the back of this success, the Harlequin Ladies Youth Academy having been put on hold this year, will be restarting training in January 2006.
