Quins decided to make things difficult by losing to University of Nairobi's Mean Machine 22-10 last Saturday. Machine, who have finally got their act together, made sure the league leaders would feel their wrath at their bumpy home ground, where Quins, who have suddenly lost form, were the visitors. Machine drew first blood with a penalty to take them 3-nil ahead. Quins were unfazed and applied pressure on the Machine defence which was fortunate not to concede. Time and time again Quins lacked the killer instinct to finish as they camped in the hosts half. However their efforts were rewarded when Sean Omondi, who had an outstanding game breached the students defence to put Quins ahead 5-3. Tito Oduk made sure it was 7-3.

The second half saw Machine attack with much passion. Quins seemed prepared to hang on to that score. It came as no surprise as Quins who were on the back foot for most of the second half conceded 2 more tries and a penalty that saw Machine stretch their lead to 22 -7. A Tito Oduk penalty could not haul Quins back into the game. Tito who seems to have lost his kicking boots had a wretched game before being substituted. He and Johnny Wilkinson seem to be going through a really torrid time on the pitch. Final score 22-10 to Machine and relegation is a rumour to them. With our close rivals notching up victories Quins were dislodged from the top of the table. The over the fence nuisance aka Impala took our place at the top. Returning Quins coach Tom "Crusader" Odundo was livid with his teams performance.

3 more games to go and it seems the race will go down to the wire with Impala, Quins and KCB gunning for top honours. Nondies seem to be falling by the wayside after losing to KCB over the weekend. Money can't buy success. All this means is now Quins need to get down to serious business and stop being sleeping beauties. Its time to wake up and gun for the title. Its Nakuru this weekend and thereafter Impala and KCB. So come on players, give us a chance to sing and drink properly. Over to you!
