Quins still need points to guarantee that vital play-off place after Saints shaded a pulsating encounter at the cinch Stadium(32-31) .

It was another late show, but this time it was the home team who took the spoils leaving Quins with just two points rather than the five which had  looked likely at one stage in the second half.

The first half saw Saints get a try-scoring bonus point after just 35 minutes as they tore into a Quins side which looked sluggish at the breakdown.

The game went to uncontested scrums earlier than usual as Saints lost prop Conor Carey, followed by his replacement Paul Hill after nasty head clash with one of his own forwards.

Andre Estherhuizen had got Quins first ty. The second came courtesy of Joe Marchant showing tremendous skill and awareness to bat a ball back to Huw Jones as he leapt over the touuchline.

It was 26-17 to Saints at the break with Quins stepping up a gear in the second half - going ahead for the first time thanks to Alex Dombrandt and Cadan Murley.

Quins lost replacement prop Santiago Garcia Botta to the bin or a high tackle on Furbank with 2o minutes left, but were able to hold out.

However, with the score at 31-29 something had to give it and it was a penalty just inside the visitors' half which gave Grayson the chance to nudge his side ahead.

Tense stuff but two points is better than none.
