Meet the Ref Evening - Wayne Barnes - Tuesday, 6th December

We are delighted to confirm that back by very popular demand we have an evening with Wayne Barnes on Tuesday, 6th December in the Jesters Suite at The Twickenham Stoop.  

For any of you who have not been to one of Wayne's evenings before we thoroughly recommend you come along for a very insightful and highly entertaining evening from one of the most respected referees in the game.  Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.  Free entry for Quinssa members, £3.00 for non-members (or they can join Quinssa on the night for just an extra £2.00)

As for put in to the scrums, WB has stated at previous evenings he's far too busy monitoring everything else to worry about that. Worth pestering him though, if he reports back that the fans are really concerned about this, it might get some attention.

Yeah, why didn't he yellow card Andy Goode up at Leicester in May 2008 when he CLEARLY shoulder-barged Danny Care off a try-scoring opportunity. And only a mere few weeks after he'd been at the Stoop pontificating about how he'd much rather pick up on things like that than technical infringements.

I know, I should let it go now that I've seen us win there, but it was highly infuriating to say the least. (Sm9)

Ask him how much clotted cream he wants to come back and ref the Pirates.When he came down he was superb.The difference between him and the Championship officials was there for all to see.

Is it fair to yellow card props for persistently failing to bind when the decision is so hard to judge anyway? Why does it always seem to favour the attacking side?

Barnes said he only looks at the tight head's binding and whether his shoulders are compared to his hips.

Is that free rein for looseheads to get up to all sorts of shenanigans?

That's a good idea - as long as it doesn't scare all of the monkeys in his head!

The possibility of changes to the setting & wheeling of the scrum and ruck rules will be interesting if they come in, and more use of the TMO for things other than in goal decisions
