Harlequins Fashion Show - ‘Style at the Stoop’

Harlequins FC are teaming up with a number of dynamic and exciting brands to deliver an action packed fashion show on Thursday 30th July 2009 at the Twickenham Stoop.
Headlined by one of the UK's leading retailers Marks & Spencer, along with Eden Park and women's label Arrogant Cat, the show promises to deliver fantastic fashion, modelled by none other than Harlequins first team players, including Danny Care, Ugo Monye and David Strettle.
Guests will be welcomed to a drinks reception courtesy of Corney & Barrow Wine Merchants and shall receive a goody bag worth over £25 with products from Cosmopolitan magazine, Crabtree & Evelyn, KMS California and lots more.
Tickets are priced at £35 each, with proceeds from the charity raffle going to the Club's charity HopeHIV.

Frankly I'm not sure I want a bag of goodies from Cosmopolitan magazine or whoever, or watch the boys be turned into some sort of kitsch fashionistas either.

A bit of nosh and a band? Then pay for your drinks all night on top of that? You are seeing this kind of thing more and more from the club nowadays. I appreciate that people can choose as they please but this just stands out as a complete rip off.
I hope hardly anyone bothers with it.

But in the past always liked to get to the ground early and spend some of my hard earned there. Just find it's becoming harder and harder to justify that. Last season, turning up at the members bar and being told it was too busy to allow me in (despite the £110 I HAVE to pay for the privilege) and walking around the back to see the place packed with away supporters really got my back up.
As you say it has become far more appealing to have a few down the road and just get to the ground in time (note I am always in my seat before KO!) to pick up a couple of pints and watch the match. I just find this a great shame. I know this is because we are far more popular now and last seasons success is entirely due to that, it's just I'm an old git and everything now seems to have been better in the past!

- as a freebe with the ST it was a nice touch but as a paying event X 2, 3 or 4 its just not worth it
