The Official Committee of the OHSC met last week to
discuss Official Confidential Important Business.
Seated around a long, rectangular table biscuits and tea were enjoyed, at the
suggestion of Hon Sec, with thanks to Hon Treasurer for approving the funding.
Suggestions
The meeting began by considering a number of suggestions received by Official
Fans. These were swiftly shown to be misguided and/or to have been tried
before and were rightly disposed of. The Official Committee then moved to
Official Business
Rugby
World Cup (RWC)
It was agreed that the OHSC was strongly of the view that the next RWC
should be played at the end of a structured season, and hosted in just one
country, preferably England. It was resolved that the Official Chairman should
write a Stern Letter to the organisers of RWC to inform them of this Important
Official Fans Position, so that they could action accordingly
Local
Papers
It was agreed that the OHSC was strongly of the view that the Club should
do more to encourage local journalists by granting more interviews and
providing more inside information and so on and so forth. It was resolved that
the Official Chairman should write a Stern Letter to the Club to inform them
of this Important Official Fans Position.
On-Field Results
It was recalled that a previous meeting an Official Committee Member was asked
to look at what could be done about the disappointing results on-field.
Subsequently the results have improved markedly with Saturday's impressive
demolition of the Newcastle Huff&Puffs. It was resolved that the
Official Chairman should write a Stern Letter to the club to remind them of
this Important Official Contribution.
Sunday
Matches
A number of fans have expressed concern about the growing Sunday fixtures. the
Official Committee agreed that this trifling matter did not merit discussion
and was best left to the Club to sort out as they pleased.
Theme
Park
A small group of unofficial "fans" have apparently set up some sort of
Harlequins Theme Park devoted to the club. Official Fans are reminded that
this "park" is not endorsed by the Official Committee (who thought oit first
in any case). It was agreed that this park must never be mentioned again in
Official Documents.
Survey
The International Global Rugby Supporters' Association (Official) has
announced a comprehensive survey of Official Fans everywhere. It can be
confidently expected that the results of this Important Survey will dictate
the decisions of the IRB for decades to come. Members if the Official
Harlequins Supporters Club members will be please to know that they need not
worry themselves overly much over this Survey as the Official Committee will
be answering it on their behalf.
The Official OHSC Website has not been updated for almost twenty-four seasons
