Quins bring Nakuru down to earth with 32-13 victory to remain unbeaten and top of the league. Mwamba feel the wrath of Quins in 32-10 loss. Quins visit Mombasa for league match as cross country show takes place. Quins came back from Nakuru with maximum points as they recorded there 3rd win of the season to remain on top of the league and open up a 3 point gap. The 32-13 win against a battle-hardened and much improved Nakuru saw Quins fore all cylinders from the word go. Halftime score saw Quins ahead 17-3. The second half saw Nakuru come back forcefully to breach the Quins rearguard twice but more tries from Quins made the game safe. Final score 31-13 in favour of Quins. For the second game in a row Man of the Match was Enos Otieno.
Sadly captain Sidney Ashioya left the pitch injured and is likely to be out for a month. We wish him a speedy recovery. The seconds did not let the club down as they beat Nakuru seconds 18-3 to record their second win on the trot. Kudos to both the first and second team. Special mention to all the fans who drove out to the Rift Valley to support the two Quins teams that were in action.
The previous weekend saw Quins play both Mwamba teams and the results well ensconced in our favour were 32-10 and 15-5 respectively.
This coming weekend sees Quins down to play in Mombasa at the coast the same weekend the World Cross Country championship takes place. It promises to be a bumper weekend and the team should retain focus and continue with the same momentum. Good luck lads and bring back the maximum points. Those who come make the long trip down to Mombasa lets meet on Thursday (Club Night) and strategise.
The Kenya 7’s teams heads to Hong Kong and Adelaide and with the bulk of the team coming from Quins our performance in the league will surely be tested over the next couple of weeks. Good luck to the 7’s team as well as it will be another Quins representation out there.
