National Sevens Kings 'Kenya Harlequin' added a second trophy in 7 days when they beat defending champions Impala to become the new Kabeberi 7's champions. A pulsating final it was as Quins were first put behind the posts when Nato Simiyu put Impala ahead with a 5 five-pointer. Joel Kinaro immediately replied by running round Oscar Osir with Dan Ngonga making it 7-5. Victor Sudi scored a try after the breather which was converted to make it 14-5. Impala scored their second try to narrow the gap to 14-10. Quins stepped up gear as Sudi's second try made it 19-10, before Sidney Ashioya's 75-metre run crowned what was a super 2 days for the Quins faithful. Impala scored a late try after the buzzer but that was not going to change the final score of 24-17. After that the faithful did what they did best and it was indeed a very very very tiring Sunday. Ashioya was also declared MVP with 8 tries being the highest try scorer for the second successive week.

Earlier in the semis Quins whitewashed a sorry looking KCB who tried to remain in contention but unfortunately for them it was a Ferrari versus a Nissan truck performance. (No offence to Nissan truck drivers). Final score 24-0.

The victorious Quins were Sidney Ashioya (c), Allan Onyango, Namcos Simiyu, Leon Adongo, Kennedy Gikaru, Tony Mutai, Felix Ochieng, Dan Ngonga, Joel Kinaro, Victor Sudi, Joash Odhalo, Amos Agiro and Tim Lee Muraguri. Coaches Gordon Anampiu and Ken Thimba.

The Quins Kweens also had a good weekend by winning the Bowl trophy ahead of Ugandas Rangers. Much fitter and more organised than in previous tournaments the Kweens showed enterprise under new coach James 'Arrest' Mwenda. All the girls gave their best and veteran Carol Mugadi had an outstanding two days making up for her disappointing exit due to injury during the Safari Sevens. Sarah Otieno, Janet Awuor and Adelaide Nsambu were rock solid as always.

Special mention to all the Quins fans who turned up and once again it was good to see the likes of Richard Njoba and Cliff Mukulu showing their true colours. Philip 'Phildog' Jalango continues to deserve credit for his support. A staunch catholic Sunday morning mass is dedicated to Quins through his efforts. The Holy Family Church must be the only one in town on a Sunday morning where Quins shirts are donned by some of the faithful.

This coming weekend sees the final leg of the circuit which is the MOTOROLA Christie Sevens. Quins will be out to win this one as they currently top the standings ahead of a chasing Impala and KCB. As its our home tournament, lets all be there and end the season in style. Good luck to both Quins and the Kweens. A 3day weekend as the tournament is on Friday and Saturday, you can imagine the action for the weekend ahead. Friday is a public holiday as well as next Tuesday, so Quins come out and have a blast.

The physio ran onto the field with his first-aid gear and as he approached the injured player who was squirming on the ground with his hands clutched between his legs, Jude moaned,

'Please, don't rub 'em! Just count 'em!'
