A great Boxing Day game for the festive crowd as Wasps took their chances to beat a competitive Irish side 38-30

The visitors will rue the four missed conversions which would have earned therm a draw.

They went ahead through Paddy Jackson's early penalty only for  Ali Crossdale to burst down the left wing for our first try - his momentum just took him over the line.

We went further ahead when Dan Frost took advanatge of a knock-on to seize on the loose ball to score the first of his two tries on the day..

The entertainment continued as Hassell-Copllins showed his own pace to take the score to 14-8. Then it was our turn as Alfie Bearberry crossed on the blind side with Jimmy Gopperth showing the opposition how to convert.

Still tight as Creevy scored for Wasps from close range, and then he finished off a drive to take the score to 25-18 at half time.

Dan Frost got his second toincrease our lead as he had the simple tals of falling over the line. Gopperth took the lead to 17 points but weren't  home and dry as Irish scored through replacement hooker Tadgh McElroy.

We were a bit twitchy when Cuirtis Rona looked to have scored. Fortunately, for we home supporters it was chalked off for obstruction. Phew.

More  concern as we went down to 14 with Jacob Umaga sent off for a high tackle followed by a try for Ben White. Could we hold out? Yes!
