Wasps looked to be the winners as Falcons went down to 14 man after a red card for Tom enny for a finger in the eye. However, the home side had one desperate last rally with Callum Chick going over for a converted try which saw them take the game 18-14
On a wet and windy day we went behind after five minutes when a kick from scrum-half Louis Schreuder gave Falcons the advantage under the 50-22 rule. They took clean ball with Carl Fearns going over.
It was tight with Tom Cruse scoring the next try in the second half and it was 11-7 to the home side with a quarter of an hour left. However, we went ahead with a converted try from Willis but it wasn't too last.
Lee Blackett told the media: "There were a few bounces of the ball that didn't go our way. There were things we could have been miles better at.
"We know that we put ourselves in a position to win it at 14-11 up and you're inside their 22 with a couple of minutes to go, we'd expect to convert that.
"The wind was so strong. You could tell by the way they were kicking. We came out second half fairly confident and we put them under loads of pressure. We got into the opposition 22 plenty of times to come away with points but we've got to look at not converting those opportunities."

Well everybody Ref makes mistakes and given how inexperienced he is, all can I hope is that he learns from this and is better next time.
Having enjoyed playing, coaching and watching the game since I was 10 (and that was 60 years ago), i can honestly say that for me it’s not now ALL about the winning or losing - it’s really about the honour in the game. Old fashioned, I know but that the way I rock.
Even the beautifully biased commentators on their local radio freely admitted that “it won’t be given as the pass was obviously forward” - good for them.
