Gosh - this was worth the wait. Looking at this week's teamsheet you have to admit that many Waspsies might not have fancied our chances against  the side who were so difficult to beat last season.  But we have all woken up bleary eyed to check we weren't dreaming and, yes, this young Wasps side beat the mighty Bristol 44-8 - and it was no fluke.

Dan Robson was simply immense and he corralled the young talent with full back Ali Crossdale was just magic to watch and well worth his brace.

And what a memory for hooker Dan Frost who ran 45 metres on his debut to score. Simply remarkable, but testament to the verve an application delivered by the youngsters.

They even had the strength and organisation to keep Bristol's trademark drives at bay.

Crossdale's tries came in the first half with Max Lahiff crossing for Bristol to give us a 16-8 half-time lead.

Brad Shields extended that lead before Dan Frost gallop for our bonus-point.

Even when Brad Shields was sent off for a second yellow card we didn't go backwards, and had the pleasure of two late tries from Willis and Kibirige.

Bristolians in the ground were quick to point out they were missing half a dozen regulars. We were "missing" 11 - players who will now have to fight to win their places back.
