OK so it’s not Leeds, but if we lose to Sale tomorrow night then, depending on bonus points, a win for the Cardigans at Bath on Saturday could leave us bottom for over a month at least. A Leeds victory may be unlikely but we can’t take that risk.
Although we have not beaten Sale at home since September 2007 (the last time we got a try bonus point at home in the league), following a draw last season and a loss the previous one, the Sharks have never doubled us in the Premiership and indeed their victory in September 2008 is their only one at KP in the league.
Sale are only one place ahead of us in the table, though eight points better off, and so are not completely out of danger themselves, and are certainly beatable. In fact the bottom four are all playing each other this weekend with Bath in ninth place.

Zackary has posted on the message board asking for 100 per cent support tomorrow night, and I can only echo that. If things start to go wrong, we miss the odd tackle, lose a lineout or drop a pass, don’t get on individual players’ backs as that will not help. Moan after the game if you must, but for the 80 minutes please give your full support and it will hopefully be rewarded.
It would be tense but personally I’d be chuffed with a 3-0 win.
