Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that the Trotters are still chasing the signature of Real Madrid centre back Ivan Campo.
It seemed that last week the deal was dead but Allardyce has revealed there is still a chance of the Champions League winning centre back joining the ranks at the Reebok. Campo will fly in to England this week for talks after a fee was agreed between Bolton and the cash-strapped Spanish giants.
Campo originally wanted to stay in Madrid and fight for his first team place but he may now seek new pastures after he was left out of Real's squad for their prestigious Centenary tournament which also featured the likes of Liverpool and AC Milan.
There is also speculation mounting this morning that Fiorentina centre back Alessandro Pierini could join Campo in signing for the Wanderers. Italian international Pierini would be available on a free transfer, along with every other Fiorentina player, due to the Florence based clubs' financial problems which led to them being relegated to the obscurity of Serie C, all their players being available on free transfers and obviously Wednesday's planned Bolton-Fiorentina friendly at the Reebok being cancelled.
