Wanderers folk hero Dean Holdsworth looks set to leave the club, months after Sam Allardyce said he wouldn’t stand in Holdsworth’s way should the chance to move arise...
It seems that Holdsworth could be heading north of the border to Kilmarnock after Rugby Park supremo Jim Jefferies expressed an interest in signing the veteran striker.
Holdsworth joined Bolton for a club record £3.5million in the autumn of 1997 but had a tough first season at the Reebok, struggling both on and off the pitch as he found it hard to settle in the North after living in London all his life. Holdsworth scored only goal during his first season, the winning goal in a 1-0 home victory against Chelsea.
However, when Bolton were relegated he established himself as a firm favourite at the Reebok but now looks set to leave after struggling to come to terms with the pace of the Premiership as he reaches the veteran stage of his career.
Fellow striker Bo Hansen is also set to finalise his move away from the Reebok with his move back to Denmark hoping to be finalised in the next 24 hours.
