Steve Harmison climbs to 6th in the world ratings

With seven wickets in the second test against the West Indies and sixteen in the series so far Steve Harmison has risen to sixth place in the world rankings for test bowlers with 777 points. Harmy now has 56 wickets in his career to date at an average of just over 24 runs per wicket. Critics that point to 'easy' wickets against test minnows Zimbabwe and Bangladesh should note that in addition to 16 against the West Indies, Steve has taken 9 each against Australia and South Africa as well as 9 each against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

Ahead of Steve in the rankings are Muralitharan, Shoaib Akhtar, Shaun Pollock, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath. With two tests to go there is every chance that he should break into the top five.

Injuries aside, when Shoaib and Harmy return to Durham from international duty we will have a simply devastating attack - where else will you be able to see two of the very best fast bowlers in the world on the same team!
