Ferrari Confirm
Raikkonen And Massa
For 2007

The Scuderia has confirmed that Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa will race for the Italian team in 2007 and beyond. The announcement comes after Michael Schumacher stated that he will retire and confirms long-time speculation that Raikkonen would be in red next season.

Raikkonen had signed a new three year contract with Ferrari quite some time ago, but it was only confirmed after Schumi announced he would retire. As for Massa, he signed a two year extension to his current contract. This means that Raikkonen will be with the Scuderia until at least 2009 and Massa until 2008.

The Decision, especially to sign Kimi Raikkonen has certainly been made in the best interests of the Ferrari team. With Schumacher gone, Ferrari need to have a number one driver to continue the winning legacy and Raikkonen is likely the best driver to ensure this shall happen. Massa is also a fine choice as he is improving nicely and will likely be a regular winner next year.

Luca Badoer has also be confirmed as the team's test driver for the next season and probably beyond. More news and reactions related to the new Ferrari driver line-up to come soon, right here from Ferrari 1.
