26th June 2002 - Whitby Town today announced their plans for a new complex that will be built to replace the existing old stand on the cricket pitch side of the Turnbull. Blues chairman Graham Manser told Official Site (www.whitby-town-fc.co.uk) "Our main stand is dilapidated and too small for the Unibond League. If it is not demolished by April 1st 2003 there is the very real possibilty that we could be relegated.

A new stand will cost approximately £275,000. We have £70,000 and there are grants available up to £160,000, but this leaves us with a shortfall of around £45,000. Any help however small would be greatly appreciated.

We are attempting to find a sponsor of £100 for every new seat and the name of every donor will be displayed on a board in the new complex.

Businesses can send a cheque for £117.50 made out to "Whitby Town Football club" so that an invoice can be raised to acknowledge the sponsorship. Individuals should make their cheques out to "The Turnbull Trust".
