UK terrestrial broadcasters ITV-F1 have suggested that Jordan will not receive Ford works engines for 2003. If anything, the team will like Arrows have to pay for their Cosworth brand engines.

The site suggests that Jordan will need to find up to £15million for a years supply of the customer engines.  Jordan have been spared this burden in the past as they have received works deals from Peugeot, Mugen and Honda.  Thought however turns to the fact that Honda will have to buy Jordan out of their last year's contract.  This surely would cover the cost of the Cosworth supply.

ITV-F1 believe that it will be title sponsor DHL who will pick up the bill for the engines if they get their way and Heinz-Harald Frentzen is re-installed at the team.  They want a German driver in the car to help promote their F1 campaign.

Frentzen is unlikely to be returned to a Jordan seat this year, despite quitting Arrows at the weekend.  Takuma Sato's position in the team looks increasingly under threat for 2003.
