Race win or not in Canada, Jordan Ford will have reason to celebrate this weekend as the Ford marque enters it's second century of operation. Ford celebrates it's 100th Birthday on the 16th June and is having a massive bash at its Michigan Headquarters starting today. Sir Jackie Stewart, Dan Gurney and Carroll Shelby will all make appearances during the weekend as will many of the great cars which they drove for the manufacturer through the years.

Ford started in Racing, when founder Henry Ford won a race which gave him the financial funding he needed to start production of his Model T.  Ford's ideas not only started a motoring revolution, it changed the way that manufacturing produced may of it's goods with the first moving assembly line and a fixed wage for a day's work.

Ford also plan to unveil a new corporate logo.  The Blue Oval which has symbolised the company for much of it's 100 year history will undergo a complete modernization.

Jan Valentic (Vice President of Global Marketing) said recently, "This action is far more than changing the sign on a building.  The Ford Logo is a powerful symbol, recognised the world over as an icon of the company that put the world on wheels.  As we head into our next century, we want to make it very clear that it is the same symbol that will lead the industry on three simple tenets: great products, a strong business and a better world."
