Qualifying sacrificed for race performance?

Both Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman suffered in their attempts to qualify for the race grid of the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola. The Jordan drivers start from a lowly 17th and 19th positions.
Ralph made a drivers error at the start of his flying lap, not helped by what would appear to be a heavy fuel load perhaps helping with a single stop strategy for the race. Giancarlo hopes that his performance is also down to Jordan's strategy on the day.
The race today starts under a cloud with the death last night of Elisabeth Schumacher, mother to Ralf and Michael. Jordan Fans Online would like to pass on our condolences to the brothers and their families.
