Red Bull Jordan Cosworth Anyone?

Bernoldi - 2003?

Rumours circulating suggest it would appear that Red Bull are interested in an association with Jordan which could pull the team back from the brink.

Red Bull have a huge interest in the sport, previously backing Sauber and Arrows.  Speedtv.com suggest that as Benson and Hedges sponsorship has diminished this season.  Rumour suggests that the only way this will increase again is if Eddie Irvine joins the team.  However, if Red Bull do become Jordan's primary sponsor, the famous yellow chassis may become blue in colour, fitting nicely in with the blue oval of the Ford Motor Company.

Ex-Arrows driver Enrique Bernoldi has been in talks with Jordan for the now vacant seat two.  Bernoldi harbours strong links with Red Bull and this must make him a strong favourite for the seat.  However Felipe Massa, the ex-Sauber pilot will have a link back to Red Bull and he claims to already have struck a deal with EJ and the team.  So it's anyone's guess.

There are media claims that Deiter Mateschitz has been offered a 60 percent share of ownership in Jordan. Eddie strongly denies this, but says that significant changes for his team could be just around the corner.

"I've never spoken to Red Bull about equity, never," said EJ. "We'll announce something quite spectacular in due course, but I will do whatever I need to stay in business."
