No Approach For Penney

Contrary to some reports, Doncaster Rovers chairman John Ryan says he has not had an approach for Doncaster boss Dave Penney from Town.

Reports on some websites today suggest that Town want to make Penney their next manager, but Ryan has denied any contract between Town and himself.

Ryan: “There hasn't been an approach but there's been a lot of speculation about Dave's future but I'm confident he'll stay.

“He can see the progress we're making, he's got a great squad and I've given him enormous backing.

“And although this may sound ridiculous to some people, we are potentially a bigger club than Ipswich Town.”
