Butcher Approached Town?

Reports in the local media suggest that former Town captain Terry Butcher has instructed his agent to contact Town about the vacant managers job.

Butcher is currently manger at SPL side Motherwell but has been offered the job at Sydney FC in Australia but once he heard about the job at Town he got his agent to contact Town.

 

Town chairman David Sheepshanks didn’t confirm or deny the reports but did say Town had applicants.

 

Sheepshanks: “The phone has been red hot with applicants, either in person or via agents.

 

“I'm extremely encouraged by the response and interest which would suggest we will have a very high calibre of applicants to choose from.

 

“It would be unfair to talk about any individual but at this stage I'm not ruling anyone in or ruling anyone out.”
