Royle’s Reaction: PNE

Reaction from Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle following Town’s 3-1 defeat against Preston North End last night.

Royle: “The lad (Brett Ormerod) had lost control of the ball and he's on his way to the floor before Naylor has made contact with him, the referee has agreed to look at the incident again but I'm not holding out much hope of a change in mind, anyway the damage has been done.

“I was disappointed with the Preston players' attitude as well, looking to get Richard sent-off and I don't think we got a decision the whole game.

“Our front two were giving them problems but were kicked from behind regularly and Danny Haynes got a yellow card for being kicked in the chest!

“I'm having to bite my tongue because I can't say what I want to say about the referee's performance.

“Jason (De Vos) was superb but to play with 10 men for 80 minutes was always going to be hard and the extra man told in the end, it was a big game for both clubs but it was ruined as a contest by the red card.”
