Royle Praise For Clarke

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has praised young Town striker Billy Clarke after he picked up an Irish Examiner National Junior Sports Star 2005 award.

Royle: “This is a terrific accolade for Billy and we are all delighted for him at the club. He joins a long list of top players who have previously won that award and he is capable of having a career as successful as all of them.

 

“Billy is a great kid on and off the pitch and he's very determined to succeed. He looks at me strange when I have talked about bringing in a new striker in the past although he is not quite ready to be a regular just yet.

 

“He has been unlucky with injury but I would not put it past him to be playing in the first team again before the season is over.”
