No Deal For Krol

Young Polish defender Pawel Krol will not be offered a contract by Town after spending a few days on trial at Portman Road.

The 18-year-old has been training with Town’s first-team this week in a bid to earn himself a move to Portman Road, which he won’t be getting.

 

Town manager Joe Royle: “The lad has done okay and he's got talent but we will not be taking it any further, he was in the country and has been to other clubs and we've always said that we will look at players. It doesn't cost us anything and we've done well out of 'spot scouting' this season.

 

“The big question is whether he is better at 18 than the central defenders we have and we've just handed Chris Casement a two year deal and we don't want to halt his progress.”
