Reaction from Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle following Town’s 2-1 win against Norwich at Carrow Road earlier today.

Joe: “We had to win this game and no one can deny that we didn't deserve to win it.

 

“The fans can enjoy the day now but the most important thing for us is that it keeps us in with a chance of making the top six.

 

“It's still a big ask and we need to go on a long run but it's important that we start turning draws into wins and we've done that here.

 

“There is no doubt we deserved to take all three points and I told the players at half-time to keep going forward and we carried the game to them for the second-half.

 

“Apart from the shot that hit the post, Lewis Price had nothing to do in the second-half and I think we should have won by more than we did - not that I'm complaining.

 

“Danny Haynes got wiped out by the goalkeeper when he has won the ball in their penalty area and I can't believe we didn't get the spot-kick.”
