Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle does not expect there to be any last minute changes in playing staff at Portman Road.

The deadline for signing new players is 5pm tonight and Joe does not expect any one to leave Portman Road before then nor does he expect any one to enter.

 

Dean McDonald and Kevin Horlock have been linked with moves away from Town but with the window closing its looks like they will both be with Town  until the summer at least.

 

Joe: “There is no movement on either of them at the moment and I don't expect anything to happen now, there were rumours about Kevin turning Barnsley down but that was utter nonsense. Barnsley made a phone call and that was as far as it got.

 

“Hartlepool did make a bid for Dean a few weeks back which didn't match our valuation and they will not be pursuing their interest in Dean now.

 

“It's got nothing to do with the fee. They have players back now from injury and are looking at other areas.

 

“I've spoken to Dean and his agent and explained the situation and the challenge is there now for the lad to work hard and try and win a new contract at this Club.”
