The Norfolk Constabulary have outlined some of what they will be doing to avoid any trouble at next months East Anglian Derby.

Norfolk Constabulary: Our primary concern at any event such as this is your safety and in order to ensure this, we will be employing certain techniques to ensure that this is achieved.

 

In previous years, we have employed a 'hold back' stance both at Carrow Road and at Portman Road, whereby the away group of supporters have been requested to remain in their seats for a short period of time at the end of the game.

 

Any delay has always been kept to a minimum. On these occasions, such a delay is to ensure that the majority of the home supporters will have cleared the area, allowing for the safe departure from the stadium of the visiting supporters. This method has been used to great success at both venues in previous years.

 

Further to this, we are aware that there was some concern regarding the fencing that was added to the Norwich Rail Station on the occasion that the clubs last met in Norwich. This will be replicated for the sole purpose that it helps us to ensure your safety by aiding us to maintain both sets of supporters in separate areas. The fencing should not impact on your movement to and from the station in any way. We will endeavour to ensure that this area is moved through as quickly as possible.
