Barron Eyeing First Team

Ipswich Town defender Scott Barron is hoping to remain in the thoughts of Town manager Joe Royle and win a new contract in the summer.

The 20-year-old made his first appearance of the season when he came on against Wolves at the weekend and he is hoping to get more first team action before the end of his contract in the summer.

 

Barron: “I had two groin operations and eventually it was discovered that I had a double hernia so I had more surgery in the summer, it has been a terrible year for me but I'm fit again now and hoping to make up for lost time.

 

“Playing against Wolves and making my League debut has given me a real boost and now I want to push on from here.

 

“I'm out of contract in the summer so it's a big year for me and I need to show the manager that I am worth a new deal. I need to force my way into the squad on a regular basis.”
