Ipswich Town reserves ran out 3-0 winners in their FA Premier Reserve League South derby against Norwich’s second string.

A goal each from Ian Westlake, Danny Haynes and Jaime Peters gave Steve McCall’s side the victory.

 

Westlake gave Town the lead after seven minutes, Westlake combining with Billy Clarke and leaving the experienced Norwich defensive pair of Simon Charlton and Craig Fleming for dead before Westlake fired past Norwich ‘keeper Paul Gallacher.

 

Clarke tried his luck from 25-yards with a stunning volley that was parried as far as Danny Haynes who headed wide with the entire goal to aim at.

 

Town missed out on another chance to extend their lead when Liam Craig saw his penalty saved by Gallacher

 

Westlake and Nash were replaced at the start of the second half by Garvan and Casement.

 

Clarke chipped just over the bar as Town looked like scoring again and 15 minutes into the second period when Haynes converted Sammy Moore’s pass.

 

Jaime Peters wrapped up the game with ten minutes to go when he fired home from just in-side the box.

 

Ipswich Town: Supple, Moore, Barron, Westlake (Garvan, 46) Collins, Nash (Casement, 46) Peters, Trotter, Clarke, Haynes (Knights, 72) and Craig. Subs not used: Short and Lordan.

 

Norwich City: Gallacher, Smith, Cole, Howlett, Fleming, Charlton, Kerr (Fulcher, 65) Eagle, Ryan Jarvis, Rossi Jarvis and Asprey (Hunter, 46). Subs not used: Arnold.
