Sam Surgery Success

Ipswich Town striker Sam Parkin underwent surgery on a broken ankle last night and the operation has been deemed a success.

The striker now looks likely to be out of action for three months, 6 weeks of which will be spent in plaster.

 

Town physio Dave Williams: “He has had two screws inserted into his ankle by Mark Bowditch, our specialist and the operation went well, surgery had to be done because the fracture went down to the joint surface and you can't risk any movement.

 

“It means he will be in plaster for six weeks and then there will be another six weeks to recover after that so you are looking at three months before he is back playing again.”
