Ipswich Town midfielder Owen Garvan is out of tomorrow’s game against Derby County as he has not fully recovered from injury.

The 17-year-old midfielder damaged ligament in his ankle during the 2-2 draw with Coventry last month and has been out of first team action since but did train today.

Town physio Dave Williams: “It was Owen's first day back in training and there is no problem with his recovery, but Owen said that he could still feel the ankle when he was twisting and turning and it's not quite fully recovered yet.

“There is no point in risking him so he won't be travelling to Derby but we're hopeful that he will be okay for Saturday's game against Plymouth.”

Nicky Forster is also out of the, Williams added: “Fozzie trained but like Owen, his knee is not 100 per cent and it's not worth the risk of playing him at Derby.

“He's nearly there so we wouldn't want to aggravate the injury before it's completely healed. Again we are hopeful that he might be okay for the weekend.”

Earlier today Owen was added to the squad that left for Derby earlier today.
