• Previous Clubs:  Chelsea (YTS), Millwall (loan), Wycombe Wanderers (loan), Oldham Athletic (Loan), Northampton Town (Loan), Swindon Town.

 

Sam started his career at Chelsea as a trainee for the West London club, never made a first team appearance and was loaned out to first to Millwall where he made his league debut and scored his first goals, four of them in seven games, after his spell at the Den he went to Wycombe on loan and scored just 2 goals in 7 starts after Wycombe he went to Oldham and scored 3 goals in seven appearance (four as a substitute) then he went to Northampton and scored just 5 times in 35 starts, he was released by Chelsea in 2002 and joined Swindon Town where he scored 73 goals in 135 games.

 

Signed for Town in the summer of 2005 from League 1 side Swindon Town, a number of other clubs including Norwich, Watford and Crewe were watching his progress before Town signed him on a four year contract.
