Mahon Bid Turned Down

Wigan Athletic have today turned down a bid from Town to take midfielder Alan Mahon on-loan from the JJB Stadium.

The 27-year-old midfielder spent time on-loan at Town before he joined Wigan in early 2004 and it is understood that Town manager Joe Royle has been keen to bring him back to Portman Road ever since.

 

Wigan manager Paul Jewell: “Everyone has a part to play in the squad, and as far as I am concerned nobody will be leaving us at any point in the near future.”
