Singing The Blues is pleased to bring you a profile of Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Westlake.

Westlake is another member of the Town squad that have been promoted to the first team from the Ipswich Town academy.

 

He made his league debut for Town against Gillingham in the 2002/2003 season and went on to make another four appearances that season with out scoring a single goal, but the following season he made 32 league starts and scored 6 goals which won him the supporters player of the year award, the John Kerridge trophy for the most improved player and the STB player of the year award.

 

Ian has been named in the England U21 squad at the start of the 2004/05 season but is yet to make a debut for the young lions. Ian is also an accomplished Water Polo player.
