Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie has hailed the bravery of Town striker Sam Parkin following his goal against Millwall today.

Sam scored with head just hours after being cleared to play by Town’s medical staff after having 20 stitches removed from a gash he picked up in training

Currie: “You have to hand it to Sam, it was a brave header, especially when you know he's had 20 stitches.

“He caused Millwall problems all game and it's good to have him back in the side.”

Currie was also pleased to score one him self since he has not scored for 26 games, adding: “It has been preying on my mind a bit.

“Willie and the gaffer have been on at me about scoring more goals so it was nice to find the net at last.

“I hit the ball well enough and seen to score regularly in training but have not been able to take it into matches and that's something that I'm working hard to put right.”
