Westy Unhappy With Ref

Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Westlake was unhappy with the referee following Towns 2-1 defeat against QPR on Tuesday night.

Town lost 2-1 against QPR following goals from Kevin Gallen and Martin Rowlands but Westy believes the game should have been stopped in the build up to QPR’s second because of an injury to Mark Fish’s head.

 

Westlake: “We were incensed because the referee should have stopped the match.

 

“Mark clearly had a head injury and, by the rules of the game, he should have been given treatment there and then.

 

“But the referee let play go on and they scored what turned out to be the winning goal.”
