De Vos On Injury Blow

Ipswich Town defender Jason De Vos has been speaking about his frustration at picking up a rib injury that could see him out of action for a month.

The 31-year-old cracked two ribs in Saturdays 1-0 win over Cardiff City after clashing with Cardiff player Cameron Jerome but kept on playing despite the injury.

De Vos: “I knew I had damaged my ribs when the incident happened but with the adrenaline pumping, you're never sure how bad an injury is when it first happens and while the game is going on, any injury is frustrating and if there was a chance I could play at QPR, I would, the gaffer knows that.

“But there is a danger with the injury that if I took a knock on it, I could end up with a punctured lung and that would mean that I could be out for months.

“There is no real treatment I can have, just rest. I've told that it could be four weeks or so but we'll just have to see how it goes.”
