Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has praised Town pair Shefki Kuqi and Kelvin Davis after both picked up awards this past week.

Shefki was voted the fans player of the season while Kelvin was voted in the PFA championship team of the season.

Royle has hailed Kuqi‘s achievement as fantastic, saying:“It's a fantastic achievement, he could have left the Club at the end of last season but thankfully he stayed, worked hard and fought for his place, and he has been excellent.

“He was particularly outstanding early on in the season then he had a little dip but he is showing signs that he is getting back to his best. Well done to the big fella!”

Joe also had praise for Davis, adding: “That was a fantastic accomplishment.

“To be recognised by your peers, by fellow professionals as the best goalkeeper in the division is terrific but it's well deserved because he's been excellent for us this season.”
