Fabian: No Grudge

Ipswich Town defender Fabian Wilnis insists he bears no grudge towards former Town manager George Burley.

The 34-year-old defender was allowed to leave on a free transfer towards the end of Burley’s time as Town manager and looked to be on his way out of Portman Road until Joe Royle took charge in 2002 and since then Fabian has become an important part of Royle’s team but he insists he holds no grudge against the former Town manager who returns to Portman Road on Saturday with his Derby County side.

Wilnis: “I am not a vindictive man. It is true that during George's last 18 months as Ipswich manager we didn't get along.

“But it had nothing to do with football and I just had to get on with it. When we meet these days we acknowledge each other and what has happened is now in the past.”
