Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has today called for Town fans not to worry despite Town slipping out of the top 2 on Saturday.

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has today called for Town fans not to worry despite Town slipping out of the top 2 on Saturday.

Town slipped from 1st in the table just over a week ago but after back to back defeats in the last week Town have been replaced at the top by Wigan and Sunderland have replaced Town in second place but Royle believes Town are still well placed.

Royle: “If you had told me when we kicked off in August that we would be joint top with only two months or so of the season to play then I would have taken it immediately, while we didn't deserve anything from the QPR game, we've not had a break over the last two matches.

“I know Kelvin sliced the ball for Rangers' first goal but the chances of it hitting Furlong on the back of the head and then bouncing perfectly for him when he turned around are 1000s to 1.

“That's the way it is going for us at the moment but we have to get on with it and see it through.

“Wigan lost to Gillingham at the weekend while Sunderland lost at Brighton last week, it's the nature of the game. There is no reason to panic. After all, we are joint top of the League.”
