On-loan striker Jamie Scowcroft is hoping to make his move back to Portman Road a permanent one in the summer.

The 29-year-old former Town striker has joined Town on-loan from current club Leicester City until the end of the season when he will become a free agent and he would like to be able to make the return full time in the summer.

Scowcroft: “That has to be my aim. If everything goes well I'd like to make the move a long term one.

“I'm here until the end of the season and hopefully I can win a contract but at the moment, I'm concentrating on taking it one game at a time.

“There are a few familiar faces from my time here before but I've been away nearly four years and the place has certainly changed a lot since then, both at the training ground and at the stadium.

“It's a funny time for me because I have never been in this situation before where I don't know where my future lies.

“There is a new manager at the club now and there are plenty of comings and goings but it looks as though I have played my last game for Leicester.

“My family are still based in the midlands though so I will be doing a lot of travelling over the next three months.

“We can't all move back down here again until I know whether it's a permanent move or not.”

Scowcroft has already made 247 appearances in a Town shirt in 7 years at Portman road after graduating from the youth set up before being sold to Leicester in the summer of 2001.
