Former Arsenal youngster Dean McDonald has been offered a contract with Ipswich Town until the summer.

The 18-year-old winger was released from the Arsenal academy in the summer along with 15 other players and after unsuccessful attempts at continuing his career in football at Boston, Farnborough Town and Wycombe Wanderers the town scouts handed him a six week trial and he has done enough in that time to impress Joe Royle.

Town manager Joe Royle has said: “We have offered Dean a contract and he is discussing it with his father and representative this week.”
