Report: Town 2-0 Cardiff

Town moved up to second in the Championship table after a 2-0 win against Cardiff City at Portman Road earlier today.
Town manager Roy Keane made three changes from the side that lost to QPR in mid-week, Wickham, Eastman and O’Dea starting in place of Kennedy, Peters and Hyam.
Neither side could find a break through in the first half, although Town fans will feel they were denied a penalty when Wickham appeared to be shoved down in the box by a Cardiff defender, if Town had been awarded and converted that penalty the lead would have been harsh on Cardiff who were the better side for much of the first half.
The second half though was a much different affair with Town coming out fighting and looking the more likely side to take the lead with Wickham, McAuley and Peters all going close before Town’s first goal.
Carlos Edwards crossed into the box and the ball was met perfectly by the head of Cardiff defender Adam Matthews, who headed into his own net to give Town the lead.
Town doubled their lead in the 73rd minute when Tom Eastman crossed in to Jason Scotland who fired into the net.
Cardiff nearly got a goal back from Peter Whitingham, whose header was tipped over by Fulop. Town nearly got a third but Jaime Peters headed over from 6 yards.

Substitutes: Murphy, Murray, Hyam, Kennedy.
Cardiff City: Marshall, McNaughton (Matthews 46), Hudson, Gyepes, Naylor, Burke, Blake, McPhail (Rae 46), Whitingham, Bothroyd (Koumas 77), Keogh.
