O’Connor Signs New Deal

Town defender Shane O’Connor has signed a new deal that will keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2012. The 20-year-old joined Town after being late go by the Liverpool academy and pushed his way into the Town first team towards the end of last season.

After signing the deal O'Connor said: "Obviously I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity to stay at the club.

"The deal was agreed a while back, but it's good to put my signature on the contract, get that out of the way and now I'm looking forward to helping the team have a good season.

"I really enjoyed last year and was pleased with the progress I made. Now I've got to look to build on that this year."
