Spurs Eyeing Wickham?

Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to make a £5million bid for Town striker Connor Wickham over the summer. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp reportedly wants to sign the 17-year-old, who scored 6 goals for Town last season, and then loan him back to Town for next season in a move that would keep both Redknapp and Town fans happy in the short term at least.

Town manager Roy Keane didn't discuss a deal with Spurs but did point out other young players going large sums of money, Keane said: "I'm not going to discuss that but you can make out of my reaction what you want.

"If I was a manager of one of the big Premiership clubs I know what type of player I would be looking at.

"Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale went for big, big money and these boys had only played 15 or 20 games for Southampton.

"There are managers out there looking for young, hungry players and I can't deny there's a saying in football that every player has his price."
