Town defender David Wright is hoping to extend his stay at Portman Road as he is yet to do what he set out to do when he joined Town in 2007. The 29-year-old joined Town from Wigan Athletic with the ambition of helping Town get promoted, his current Town deal expires in the summer and he wants an extension so he can achieve his goal.

Wright: "There's nothing to report as I haven‘t heard anything yet, so we'll have to wait and see, I would love to stay as I love playing for this club.

"When I came here three-and-a-half years ago I said I wanted to achieve promotion and that's still the case. This still has to be achieved.

"I was lucky enough to be part of promotion to the top flight when I was at Wigan.

"I've experienced it and it's a great, great feeling.

"That's what this club and the fans deserve, and hopefully we'll achieve it next year.

"That's definitely the plan and I believe we're building something here."
