Jamie Underwood has admitted stealing shirts from the Sir Bobby Robson memorial that had sprung up at around his statue following his death last month. The 21-year-old from Burrell Road in Ipswich pleaded guilty at his trial South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court earlier today. He was seen by a member of the public in the early hours of the 15th of August and he was picked up by police at around 3am, he told officers at the time that he had brought the shirts from a friend but officers arrested him after spotting messages written on the shirts.
Underwood regrets the crime and His case was adjourned until September 14 for a pre-sentence report to be done.
