It is being reported that Town have signed a pre-contract with Bohemian’s goalkeeper Brain Murphy, to sign him when the Irish season finishes in November.
The 26-year-old will join Town in November but won't be able to make his Town debut until the January transfer window opens.
The arrival of Murphy could pave the way for Shane Supple to go out on-loan once again, rather then sit on the bench behind Town's current first choice goal keeper, Richard Wright.
We can't get him till January and then need cover for when Supple goes out on loan again.
Why offer Supple a 1 year contract extension when he obviously doesn't figure as Wrights eventual replacement.
Didn't see the game or highlights angainst the Shrews so not sure how well/badly Supple played. I expect he'll get another chance against the Posh though.
It seems Wright has lost his old habit of getting injured - thankfully - so Supple may as well get used to another 4 months bench warming this season too.
